Cogniton ha permitido a nuestros equipos optimizar la creación de archivos de historial de diseño. Nuestros equipos pueden crear fácilmente nuevos proyectos, revisar proyectos pasados, implementar cambios de diseño y mantener proyectos activos. No solo Cognition elimina la mayoría de los aspectos del error humano, sino que también permite a nuestras unidades de negocio utilizar y comparar sin problemas dispositivos y productos existentes/similares. La cognición ha hecho que organizar nuestros documentos sea increíblemente fácil y proporciona un repositorio simple de navegar para nuestro equipo. He estado muy contento con las características implementadas, es fácil vincular y rastrear documentos a lo largo de un proyecto y no ha habido ningún problema al enviar documentos al equipo para su visualización/aprobación. Conocí a Compass cuando necesitaba presentar la documentación técnica de un dispositivo médico a la FDA de EE. UU. y fue un éxito: esto fue posible gracias tanto a la estructura del software como al excelente soporte técnico que me apoyó durante toda la fase de aprendizaje de la plataforma. En cuanto a la estructura de la plataforma, Compass aborda de manera efectiva y sólida las tres grandes áreas clave relacionadas con el desarrollo de un dispositivo, a saber, la definición de requisitos, el análisis de riesgos y la fase de verificación y validación de los requisitos. Encuentro que el uso de la plataforma se hace claro por la estructura que ha sido desarrollada teniendo en cuenta las necesidades de desarrollar un dispositivo médico y esto la hace fácil de usar. Una característica que me gusta particularmente de Compass es la matriz de trazabilidad que se genera automáticamente entre todos los requisitos de diseño: necesidades del usuario, entrada de diseño y salida de diseño. En la misma matriz de trazabilidad, junto a cada requisito, se vincula la prueba de verificación o validación relativa y esto hace que el panorama completo del proyecto sea muy claro y fácil de explorar. Mi cosa favorita de Compass Med es la capacidad de vincular atributos críticos de Control de Diseño a los requisitos. Con Compass Med, es fácil para mí crear una característica del producto, crear requisitos, crear casos de prueba y mostrar esas relaciones a otros ingenieros. Teniendo en cuenta que pasamos de usar hojas de cálculo a usar Cockpit, las capacidades son muy útiles. La puntuación automática de riesgos e identificar BRA para riesgos residuales es extremadamente útil considerando que hemos estado haciendo esto manualmente durante años. También me gustan los enlaces de riesgo en los archivos de diseño. Anteriormente teníamos que hacer esto manualmente, pero con Cockpit el sistema nos lo facilita. Great degree of flexibility and customization - Compass has a lot under the hood. It provides a great basic setup if you want to keep it simple, but it can grow with your organization and give you many options for making the tool into what you want it to do.
Excellent technical support - Any time there's a problem the technical support team responds quickly and directly to help me with ay issues I encounter.
Maturity - Cognition has been refining their requirements tool for many years and has come up with a tool that simply provides everything needed for good traceability.
Wholistic - Compass is more than a requirements tool, it has the ability to document and trace tests, defects, and a particularly comprehensive risk implementation. The flip side to customization is that it can require a bit of a learning curve to administration and setup. There is plenty of supporting documentation, and the staff is very willing to help but it can be a challenge.

I am relatively new to Cockpit, having only joined the team this year, but the main thing a like about the software is the re use of data and the amount of data you get for 'free' when creating content within the software. It saves having to duplicate information and work. The linking of data and realtionships between one template to the next is also hugely beneficial and evertyhing is traceable which is nice. I think our user base needs to have a greater appreciation of these benefits and the advantages the software can bring as opposed to the old way of workingwith Excel files.

The user interface of Cockpit can be difficult to get used to. It is not very user friendly in my opinion. There is loads of data and information avaialble but it can be difficult to navigate to or to understand where to looks for it.
Also there are many ways of executing the same function, which can also lead to confusion and frustration. Some of these methods behave slightly different to others.
Recently from working with project teams, they are very frustrated when it comes to removing data and trying to break relationships between templates so it can be removed. Sometimes it works ok but depending on what is to be removed it can prove difficult. In order to remove data in certain scenarios the user needs to have a very good understanding of the sytem to know where the data is rooted in order to remove or delete it at source. I have used Cognition software for the last seven years. The user interface is a lot easier to use than DOORs, and it's great that you can create the documents you need while embedding the uniquely identifiable parts required. The software is very customisable, meaning you can develop a solution no matter your process. The UK and US customer support is super. The biggest difficulty we have had the last few years is managing multiple projects at once using the same design stack. I just wish there was the ability to have revision control at the uniquely identifiable level (requirement, Test, Risk Item) so that you can have multiple developments happening at once.
