The best thing about Buildertrend is that it is continually improving. We have been using the platform for a decade. Its features and user interface have evolved so far from where it was when we began. We love the support team and dedication to improving cross-platform integrations. It would be great to have an API so that we could seek our own software integrations to fil in the gaps where Buildertrend has not yet been able to meet the needs of our specific business. Other integrations like google workspace or any two-way calendar integration would be immensely helpful over the current setup of a one-way feed from Buildertrend to the external calendar. Another huge one - something the Buildertrend team is actively working to improve - is the customizability of customer contacts. It is currently limited in that there can only be one customer contact per job which makes it very difficult to utilize the app to its full potential when projects have multiple homeowners. BT's customer communications and lead management tools are solid. Customer-facing site is attractive, professional-looking, and generally easy to use. The estimating system is pretty much just a presentation tool; despite the promising existence of the customizable cost catalog, there's an inexplicable lack of control in separating internal cost numbers from what's shown to the customer. Also, your estimates are built as a database rather than a spreadsheet, so it's impossible to do any calculating between the line items. The result is that all the actual estimating work still happens in Excel or whatever you currently use, and then you have to manually transfer the data into BT to present it to the customer.
