I have done some active learning before and hence I know the difficulty of implementing a system, more difficult when that is automated platform that involves human annotators. I have seen videos on the AWS Re:invent where it was introduced and it sounds promising. Active learning when done right can really help to gather good quality data, with less cost, and less time.

From the videos I looked at and with the small test I did, it looked promising.

I haven't seen anything as such that I dislike. Three things that come to my mind which might be limitations:

1. Since the data can be seen by 3rd party workers, privacy will be going to a huge thing. Not all companies can share data with anyone else.

2. Pricing might be of a concern. I haven't experimented much.
