There's a ton of helpful documentation, support, and community around linode/Akami. I'm a game developer and especially in the indie game sphere, linode/Akami is well-reputed and reliable. I've never had issues with servers being down, the data is incredibly easy to read and monitor, and the prices have no real competition.

Setting up our server took almost zero effort and we had it ready to test our games within minutes. You can also really customize how different elements work together and what services you want to have. How much storage, your RAM, so on. Only once did we contact support and it was just to get the version of something they were using, which was easily available. Integrating any features we needed was also easy and simple.

I like the ease of use with the ability to quickly implement and setup our VMs, Load-Balancers, Kubernetes and VPC/Networks at a fixed price. I do like it more than the other cloud providers from an initial startup price because the prices are much better and we are not overrun with ancillary costs. I would like Akamai/Linode to provide more features to their cloud offering, for example, by providing the consumer with the ability to monitor the VMs performance level and security status (an enhanced virtual dashboard). I like the affordability of Akamai. When I was looking for a cloud server to use, I found one to automate data ingestion which was costing about $800 to the company. Our company uses Akamai Connected Cloud all the time. What I appreciate most is their extensive network of data centers worldwide, which allows us to quickly deploy servers close to our target customers. Now that they’re part of Akamai, their peering policy ensures excellent connectivity to ISPs around the globe. The API integration is also seamless, making it easy to spin up new servers whenever our services require extra "power."
