Synthetic data is AI-generated data created which imitates/impersonates real world data.  It is normally used by companies to fill gaps in situations where data is expensive or scarce.

As access to public data is now reducing and datasets are shrinking, Synthetic data is becoming a cheaper, faster and convenient alternative.
