Adapting to new tools

Roughly two years ago after experimenting with several different project management platforms our agency finally settled on Asana. Not everyone was happy about this myself included. Our account executives use it differently from our digital marketing team who utilizes it differently from our creative services and there was a learning curve for projects that involve all those teams. Here's the thing though -- eventually we got it figured out. It involved some patience but more than that it was the off-platform dialogue in person that made the difference. When it comes to adding more software nothing beats a person to person dialogue on how to make it work because at the end of the day it's less about the tool and more about the people utilizing said tool.

I wholeheartedly agree. Task management apps are mostly just different flavors of the same ice cream, in my opinion. We all have our personal preferences and what we're used to, but collaboration and cooperation are the biggest needle moving difference makers.

Hi Ben,

2-3 years ago I had to find a rather obscure software that was used to help provide anti-virus functionality for some Windows 7 and 8 machines (whose Microsoft End of Lifetime Support Licenses had been reached). These machines were used in operational environments, and couldn't be replaced straightaway.

I was able to help provide a management console solution on a remote server that helped support these machines. It was a long and arduous task, but ultimately worthwhile. I was able to ensure the old machines were safeguarded from vulnerabilities, threats, and risks during this period., Eventually, the machines were replaced with Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines.
