# Why does Necto highlight the fact that it is centralized?

Is there something wrong with a different model? Why is centralized better?

Federated BI, the opposite of centralized BI, is failing rapidly. Users tend to work in silos, as each modifies and saves data on their own desktop. The data is later too hard to merge and there are multiple versions of the truth and messy data. With centralized BI users work connected, achieve only one version of the truth, there can be a high usage because it is catered, it is governed by IT and secure and saves a lot of money.
