# What&#39;s the easiest way to handle offboarding

This is a loaded question! There are a ton of steps related to offboarding that typically go under the radar. (You can check out this 10-step checklist - https://blog.toriihq.com/the-it-checklist-for-employee-offboarding). What you might be referring to is the deprovisioning of cloud apps. This is frequently overlooked and leaves a lot of possible surface area for data exposure. 

The &quot;easiest&quot; way depends on your current SaaS stack. Most organizations have some form of automation in place, often through their IdP (Okta is a common example). 

However(!!!) something to keep in mind—most methods only deal with sanctioned applications and have zero impact on shadow IT apps. Tools like SaaS Management Platforms also automate offboarding with custom workflows, but they also discover shadow IT apps as they&#39;re adopted so you have full visibility and coverage of your stack.
