It is largely a video conferencing software. My current employer utilizes it. One feature that we find helpful for our training team is the ability to commandeer our customer's computer from the meeting to show them how to use our software.  

I am not sure that it is overall a better solution than some of its competitors, but we have used it for over a decade and it has always been very useful. Enough so that we have never gone away from it.
