# What are the top AI chatbots for appointment scheduling?

The biggest thing we learned is that the scheduling logic behind a chatbot is just as important as the chatbot itself. Availability rules, buffers, cancellations, reminders, and handoffs all matter a lot more than the chat experience alone.

We tested Tidio for appointment booking, and it worked well for basic use cases, especially when the booking flow was straightforward. Where it got harder was handling edge cases like reschedules, no-shows, or different appointment types. For small businesses, though, it felt like a good balance of simplicity and utility.

For us, the appointment completion rates improved mainly because the chatbot reduced back-and-forth communication. People were much more likely to book when they could just pick a slot immediately instead of waiting for someone to respond.

One hidden issue that I faced was that appointment bots often work well until you have multiple calendars, providers, or appointment types. That’s where configuration gets much more important.

I’d also love to know if anyone saw a drop in no-shows after adding an AI chatbot for scheduling. Did automated reminders actually make a difference, or do customers still prefer human confirmation?
