I have a computer repair service and I have customers whom live out of town...how could I use spiceworks to administer routine task through a secure connection?

2 choices that I know of and that is spice works and pdq inventory. I prefer pdq, but Sw is free.

Spiceworks has a module for Remote Site setup and connectivity called “Remote Collector" that will connect to your central Desktop app using HTTPS and sends the data from the remote site back to you. Check it out at this site. I have never used it but it sounds like what your looking for. https://community.spiceworks.com/support/desktop/troubleshooting/remote-site-setup
