Do you use Revit to finish all drafting as well?

As a strong defender of BIM (although using ArchiCAD mostly) people often tell me that they use AutoCAD to finish drawings. From what I experienced from Revit, that should not be required at all. Do you export your model to AutoCAD for construction documentation? Or finish everything directly inside Revit?

We complete from beginning to end Revit projects completely within Revit. It definitely takes effort getting plans to look the same as the Company Standard but many times we have found ways to enhance the look of our projects beyond what was possible for us in CAD. We also make all of our schedules and details in Revit.

I don't see any reason why anyone would want to continue using multiple programs for compiling and developing construction documents. Even the most complicated projects can be efficiently compiled and developed in Revit, and using ad-in features to fill in any "gaps" in the software's abilities. Revit is very succinct in it's ability to format and create templates and high quality construction documents. To summarize, if you're still exporting to other programs, you just haven't caught up your Revit templates and formatting.
