You can use it on a PC or MAC. But Tails is an OS (operational system) rather than a software. Else, you can try running Tails on a VM (virtual machine).

The only thing you need is a computer with a USB boot option, The OS is not used while booting from a Tails USB. The system runs on the USB with RAM used for temporary memory then dumped when turned off.
