What is the best way to add BOM's to fusison360 drawings?

In Fusion360 drawings, there is an option to add a BOM from OpenBOM; however, this feature has less control and cannot expand sub-assemblies used as folders correctly. Currently, we are using the flattened view in addition to a checkbox and a filter to extract the correct components. We then export the filtered flattened BOM as an excel spreadsheet and insert it into the Fusion360 drawings. Do you have any recommendations on a better way to accomplish this?

I'm having trouble with this feature, inserting BOM does not work. Based on my needs, I'd suggest that insert BOM brings up a simple table with all assemblies plus components and a checkbox to select which ones to include in the drawing.

Hello Joel OpenBOM provides an insert BOM table command. This command allows you to select a BOM from OpenBOM and insert it in the drawing. The main scenario is to insert top-level BOM for the design you have in Fusion360. A possible solution for what you want to achieve is to create also a Part List (separate command in OpenBOM toolbar), which is kind of an addition BOM list, which will be technically presenting the same data in Flattened BOM. Please report this use case to our support@openbom.com -we will discuss with our engineers how to make Flattened BOM transferred to Fusion360 drawings. Best, Oleg
