MS Expression Web to Dreamweaver

Good afternoon I'm looking at transferring my site from Expression web to Dreamweaver as it no longer supports ftp uploads and wondered if anyone has recently successfully made this transition. I have very little knowledge in this type of thing, I took the site over when my husband passed away in December and I really want to keep the business going and worry that I'll mess things up making this transition. A friend has mentioned that I may need to look at changing the site in Dreamweaver to have a reuseable header, menu etc on every page as it may not support the expression web set up. Is this right, or, when I download the site to Dreamweaver will it look and be coded like it is in Expression Web and I just carry on from there? Sorry if this is confusing, I'm a newbie to this and after spending so much time googling things and getting even more confused thought it might be best to ask people who have actually done it. Also, if anyone wants to recommend another visual code editor that might be better suited I'd very much appreciate any suggestions. Many thanks
