Sometimes Zoom is to be used from areas having network issues; how to best utilize zoom in such cases?

Call in using your phone's cell data, and log in via desktop and use the internet for display purposes on the call. The voice portion will not use bandwidth.

I would suggest to turn off de microphone when you’re not speaking, as well as the video off when you don’t need it.

Hi. Using audio is a credible solution. As for the shared material, it can be sent by email during or before the zoom session. I would also recommend a preset shared agenda and dividing the session into shorter and smaller segments with pauses (fog the internet delay).

While I agree with turning off video, if someone is presenting a document, there is still a case for video. There are a lot of good suggestions here (https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362463-Wireless-WiFi-Connection-Issues) ... These include (check speed via speed test over these area): * Turn off VPN, if possible * Connecting WIRED versus WIFI * Place computer closer to WIFI access point * Upgrade WIFI firmware * Use WIFI extender

My best advice, leave your video off. This is what takes quite a bit of bandwidth.

Sometimes dedicating the available bandwidth to that particular device can be helpful. Phones, tv's, and computers can be all sucking up the available bandwidth. Most of us may have 2.4 G and 5.0. Check out how your bandwidth is being shared. shut down the other devices that are sharing it or reallocate those other devices.

Vikas, in low bandwidth areas you can ask participants to switch off the video. This should work fine.

1. Close all other applications - unless they are needed in conjunction with zoom-sharing - sometimes the delay is also because of the Desk Top RAM being overloaded 2. In our meetings - all mute on their own. This definitely helps us. 3. Those who are joining from remote rural areas of India use cell-phones - it is our experience, repeatedly, that when they switch off their video the voice quality and continuity becomes normal. 4. If you have a single-user licence do make one or two colleagues as Co-Hosts - if all three record.. then if one or two are glitched due to low band width, or fluctuating bad-width - the entire recorded session can later be shared as a url to wherever it is stored on the net. (ex. Google Drive) 5. Having Co-Hosts - especially the younger trainees, helps to have them focus on if some do stay unmuted. They identify and mute them. We never mute all by command. It is left to self discipline through self-awareness. Stray cases are gently muted with a pvt. message sent about why they were muted.

I have attended large Zoom meeting and the host asked us to 1). mute and 2). turn off video to conserve bandwidth. Not sure if it works, have to ask the techies, but it seemed to work with the meetings I attended.

I would suggest you try doing a reboot of your computer modem, and router before you even try to sign in to zoom. Also close your email, Facebook, etc
