Why is getting rid of PRO in 7 such a benefit for the product?

I believe the tools flexibility that is enable by the PRO module has made it dominate player it is today. I have using it to solve integrate date and resource forecasting needs across functional systems. This ability has only grown importance as the other systems are moved to the SaaS. Here are the list of system that Planisware mage the data intgration part of the solution. Workday, Veeva Vault, Work Force and CTMS.

Thanks for sharing your concern with us, Mel. Just to help people reading this, for the past 25 years Planisware Pro has been Planisware Enterprise’s module of choice for all authoring tasks. And with upcoming Planisware Enterprise V7, we are indeed decommissioning the « Pro » module. Planisware Pro has been a very potent tool: with it you can configure everything, replace any screen, patch Planisware code, and use incredibly advanced (but dangerous) features. For Planisware, the Pro removal from its Enterprise solution has been a long program that took us almost 5 years to finalize: we have been reviewing all configurations done in the last 15 years and redesigning how you could do the same configuration with the new configuration technology called Level1 or L1 in a simpler, faster and safer way. L1 is bringing very advanced configuration capabilities: you can write scripts called user scripts in a modern programming language that is taking the best from C#, python and javascript. You are still able to build your report, extend the data model, and define data management rules. In many aspects L1 is as powerful as the Planisware Pro it is replacing. Also, good to know: Pro will not disappear entirely. It is still be available and maintained in V7 in order to maintain previous configurations done in Pro. ~Pierre Demonsant, CEO and Co-Founder
