Stata is keeping up with the most recent advances in statistical analysis. It also provides various training (free and fee) opportunities to sharpen the skill of using it. Most importantly, programming is easy and intuitive. It is really much better than other analytical software like SAS. It also has STATA journal that publishes regularly on advancement in the statistical knowledge.

As a user of both R and Stata, for years one would find more online support for R, given the open source community supporting it. But the Stata support is improving dramatically. Many of the packages available for R are slowly being integrated into Stata’s functionality
