One of the better classroom management tools

We've used several versions of Sakai over the years and the most recent one has made some big improvements. Overall it's fairly easy to use and students seem to be able to navigate it well. If you take the time to customize a page with thoughtful navigation tabs, students can easily find what they are looking for on their course pages. It does take some time and thought to do the initial setup, which can be seen as a drawback for faculty members. But our university has taken the time to offer free Sakai training to faculty and staff which has greatly improved uptake of Sakai by the university community.
