Der von SBT bereitgestellte DSL wurde für die Nutzung durch Menschen konzipiert. Er steht in starkem Kontrast zu anderen auf XML basierenden Build-Tools, bei denen die Lesbarkeit bestenfalls schlecht ist. Die Tatsache, dass die Projektdefinition mit einem DSL innerhalb von Scala erstellt wird, hilft, da der Benutzer seine Fähigkeiten in dieser Sprache verbessert. Die Plugin-Integration und das Ökosystem sind ebenfalls großartig.
