As an AWS cloud engineer I could implement the same functionality with Route53 health-checks and CloudWatch alerts/dashboards, but it would require much more effort, and what is even more important and valueable - my time. Ultimately we're people )) which means we're lazy by our nature - so we're constantly looking for achieving our goals with simple solutions!
