Feature flags take some time to propagate to users which can is inconvenient when testing. It is also difficult to do anything with the event data, you can filter users with it, but can't do much else like create charts in the UI. The feature flags enable you to have a lot more control in how you roll out features. The A/B tests allow you to measure the impact of specific features, and choose exactly who will see the feature.
