A nice Document control system, which ties into our internal Work Request and Change Request processes (via Clear Quest). A somewhat easy search feature for finding older documents, we have been using this in my current department for our Build documents which contain our specifications of our steps when building out a server. It has other uses, beyond the few that my immediate department uses, such as allowing a tracking all changes made to a script or document and tracking the changes from cradle to grave. There are a few improvements needed, such as an easier way to upload documents than the way we have it configured, by linking it to a Work Request. We also have it configured to store individual “views” locally on workstations, instead of a central repository, which is bad when a workstation’s hard drive “dies”. Too intergrated with ClearQuest that you it requires a WR and an attribute # associated with that WR to upload/edit any document in ClearCase.
