While the HUMAN Bot Defender product works as intended, to be used correctly, it requires significant code integration and engineering support to make operational. To get the most out of the product, a company needs to have a 24/7 SOC or automated processes to pass logs of traffic to Human's team. Additionally, the detection rules implemented are proprietary and are not shared by Human Security to its client. Thus the product is a black box from the client perspective. Being in retail ecommerce, the bots are as relentless as they are sophisticated. Network signature based solutions or reCaptha's are no match for them. Human Bot Defender's client side sensors and dector cloud deliver an added layer to detection that you cannot afford to go without. The integrations options are robust and comprehensive, giving you a lot of opportunities for an implementation that works best for your organization, and their customer support response times are impeccable. This is not a turn key solution if you want to realize its full value. You will need internal subject matter experts who understand botting, the bot defender product's implementation, and your attack surface intimately. Ease of installing for Cloud infrastructure was stellar - it look less than a day and was quite simple as the documentation is set up well. Customer support is super helpful and our account management is always looking for ways to help. Once setup, integrating with our existing reporting stack was a breeze. The administration dashboard has a lot to be desired. It could benefit from a reorganization that makes configuration a bit easier. Not much to dislike, I performend the inital integration on Salesforce Commerce Cloud so I would say it is pretty simple and easy to use product. From a devops standpoint I would say it could be helpful to have more alerting or ways to setup rules to identify malicious users. For example, if a bot is submitting add payment form several times per minute if we could have a rule to flag those IP addresses for reporting, additional investigation on our source system. Sometimes it is difficult to drill down quickly the main culprits of an event in a meaningful manner. Some of the setup UI could use refreshing to help speed up configuration, and being able to quickly link and create dashboards for others to use as well would be a great addition.
