Many hydrualic models follow a similar procedure to set up. It would be nice to have a setup wizard that would guide a user through adding elevation data, drawing section lines, creating cross sections, and defining hydraulic parameters. Many projects would need further refinement after the wizard is completed, but the goal would be to streamline the first steps of building a hydraulic model. The program is very easy to use. Necessary information (such as rouhness coefficient and more) was also provided to ease the work and save time from looking up that information elsewhere. GeoHECRAS greatly streamlines importing waterway geometry data into the HEC-RAS interface through its interactability with CAD files. Whereas much data processing is required to import waterway geometry data into HEC-RAS by itself, GeoHECRAS allows for this task to instead be completed with just a few clicks. It also has great graphics that make the visual experience of using GeoHECRAS enjoyable, including visualizing the extents of flood boundaries on aerial imagery. GeoHECRAS also allows for quick and easy file export in the stand-alone HEC-RAS format, allowing for efficient submission of model results to clients and regulatory agencies.
