I used to RCP files for clients applications but it was slow, prone to failure and required knowledge of the files that needed to be synced vs. the files that should not be. Sometimes I have had some trouble getting it configured initially. Usually it is related to a permissions issue on the remote server which is not Capistrano's fault. It would be nice if there was a server-side component that you could install so the client and server parts could help you inspect and resolve user or permissions issues like this.
