1. While using Kettle environment variables the appication doesnt work as intended which can be frustrating. 2. Unless paying for the tool, the implementation is something that one has to figure out by themselves.
This tool is very useful and makes integrating services together easy, once you know what you are doing. Using this in conjunction with our product we were able to integrate to any system that already existed for our clients. This helped us make deals.
You have to use their IDE, which is pretty restrictive. There is no good way to make changes if you don't use it. At the time I used this, different versions of WebMethods required different versions of the IDE, so I had to have 3 different IDEs...
