Question on: Autodesk Construction Cloud
It would be great if there was a webinar or guide specifically about using BIM360 for design team model sharing. I get invites for many but they are too general and seem to be showing all the features. Also, the naming of products is confusing. A360, BIM360, BIM360 Collaboration, BIM2360 Teams... I
Good morning to all,
The renaming of BIM 360 product has brought a lot of confusion but it has settled and it is as follows
BIM 360 Design Collaboration:
You need this if you are Worksharing on the cloud (working on Revit models) This is the equivalent to the old C4R but on steroids. You don't necessarily need to use the modules itself as it is meant to control how and when your design consultants will get Revit updates. Alternatively, you can work directly from BIM 360 Document Management and link to each other's models or copies of them, but remember that you will need BIM 360 design collaboration regardless of this.
BIM 360 Document Management:
This module is automatically added to Design collaboration because it is where the files are stored and where you would create teams for the purpose of sharing and consuming. This module can also store other project data like Office 365 documents, photos, pdf and more.
BIM 360 Model Coordination:
This is a Clash Detection Module. If you only use Navisworks for clash detection, then you might want to think about purchasing a license of Model Coordination and keep it all in the same environment.
BIM 360 Field and BIM 360 Project Management:
This is modules dedicated to Construction Management tasks.
I offer BIM 360 Training and Implementation services. If your company needs help making the most of this platform, please contact me at rodrigo@modelotechstudio.com
Michelle,
I agree with you! I am in a current battle of transferring files with the Design Team 360 to our 360 (General Contractor) to share. We are using 360 Sync from Applied Software that automates the transfer process weekly, at a set time. This eliminates the entire download and upload process of any/all files. Very beneficial. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! zachhanover@haselden.com

Question on: Autodesk Construction Cloud
BIM 360 is a vital part of are BIM coordination workflow and is beneficial for users, PM, and field personal.?
It is Vital for All parties - I think the piece that is missing is that we separate Design from Construction too much and the integrated delivers are making the need to be present in both spaces very relevant. So when you make a Meeting Mins and Checklists that are part of BUILD Design teams can really utilize this processes as well before construction begins.
