I value ELMO Software for its tight cross-module data sync, which really helps our hybrid tech team. It’s great that once we wrap up quarterly performance reviews, the results feed directly into our LMS and suggest targeted upskilling. I also like the custom report builder because it lets me quickly pull ACA and FLSA-relevant datasets. This feature cuts down on manual spreadsheet work and keeps us on track with EEOC and CCPA requirements. I also appreciate how ELMO unifies our ATS, LMS, and performance cycles into one platform, which has definitely reduced the effort of managing disjointed employee records. ELMO’s US-specific compliance reporting lacks some fine-tuning options, which makes it challenging for our hybrid tech team when building granular ACA and FLSA datasets. The API rate-limits also slow down exports to our finance tool, causing delays. New remote hires often find the user interface confusing at first, which can lead to increased support tickets. ELMO’s unified HR ecosystem is a major strength for our architecture firm. It combines time tracking, training administration and core HR functions in one place, and is pre-configured to comply with German labor laws, a key requirement for our project-based teams. The interface is user-friendly for design staff to log working hours and check training files. Automated notifications also ensure our team’s BIM and sustainable design certifications never lapse, cutting down manual audits and administrative work significantly. There are no ready-made templates adapted for architectural and BIM project tracking. The native reporting functions are too simplistic to create custom analytics for our design projects. Advanced workflow settings are tricky to modify, and the German language translation has small inconsistencies. We're very new to ELMO still so I'm only commenting on our initial (admin) user experience

A highlight has been the Client engagement from our ELMO rep, and the platform's provisions of user support for admin users - Our first usage of ELMO was a bit up and down ; there were a LOT of training slides that were very repetitive, and didn't really suit our learning styles so we were concerned for how things would play out, but their AI support agent is bloody brilliant! - and their user forums seem to have a high level of activity going on from a helpful group of people. Elmo have done a good job with incorporating this framework into their software offering (and even encouraging usage through a rewards platform $$!!! - but seriously, this is such a good idea!! nothing encourages new admin users to get involved more than some game play and physical $$ rewards for being part of it)

I like the raw aspects of ELMO that others may not - the Course Builder in particular looks archaic, and lacks the flashy interfaces of modern graphics or web design software, but by keeping the source code open makes it very easy to change this through HTML/CSS - which these days is a piece of cake thanks to ChatGPT - simply upload the base code and tell it what you want! I found our initial experience somewhat disheartening and we were concerned whether we had made the right decision - but hang in there, because after the initial bumps, things have really gotten better for us! So far, we're very satisfied with ELMO!

Our initial online training was VERY long and repetitive - death by powerpoint too! We struggled to keep paying attention because of how drawn out it was. Our initial upload of historic user data was also quite frustrating - the instructions online that show what/how templates need to be filled out were often incorrect or incomplete, which made this process very frustrating - it would be even more so if you're not accustomed to database CSV/pivot tables to decipher what is being requested.

We did some face to face (admin) training from a very experienced trainer - perhaps a bit TOO experienced as we found the training hard to keep up with, and more of a demonstration than it was training (he was super nice, polite, and helpful, but the 'training course' didn't really ensure that we were competent etc. as there wasn't much 'doing' during the training session. - again though, hang in there, because it was enough for us to learn the basics, and the ELMO Assist AI support agent is really good at helping out once we were back in our office! What I like best about ELMO software is its configurability and user-friendliness. I can tailor the system to fit Lipman's unique needs, which has been a game-changer for us. The software centralises employee information securely, automates administrative processes, and provides a modern, efficient onboarding experience. ELMO's Learning Management System offers easy access to online learning, and its self-serve functionality allows employees to update their details. Honestly, I don't see any major downsides to ELMO software. However, after some consideration, I think it would be beneficial to have "drag and drop" style functionality and more features in the employee profile. Once you understand the fundamental architecture of the system it is very user friendly and intuitive. It is on a journey of continuous improvement driven by client insights and feedback so becoming more responsive and implementing considerable upgrades. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

At present the system architecture is based around the user and not roles which e.g., can become cumbersome using the organisation chart feature because when a user departs the system doesn't automatically default to direct reports then reporting to 2 up managers. Elmo is highly customisable and adaptable. There are a number of features that are useful and the team are looking for feedback to continuously improve which is helpful. It is easy to use for the end user if the administrator has implemented well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
